Windows: open Settings → System → About → System type. Choose ia32 for 32-bit Windows, even if the processor supports 64-bit. Choose x64 for 64-bit Windows on Intel/AMD, or arm64 for Windows on an ARM processor. Microsoft’s architecture guidance.

macOS: open Apple menu → About This Mac. If it lists an Apple Chip, choose arm64; if it lists an Intel Processor, choose x64. Identify a Mac with Apple silicon.

Linux: match your installed system, not just the processor. On Debian/Ubuntu, dpkg --print-architecture reports the package architecture: amd64 means x64, and arm64 means 64-bit ARM. In the filenames, x86_64 also means x64 and aarch64 means ARM64. Debian architecture command.

ARM64 is not ARMhf. This release has no armhf, armel or 32-bit Linux package. Do not use an ARM64 file on a 32-bit ARM system. Debian’s ARM architectures.

The filters only narrow the list. They do not detect your hardware or change your computer. Use Reset filters to show all files again.

• Windows: choose EXE for installation, or ZIP to extract the application files. Keep the extracted files together. ZIP does not guarantee a fully portable setup that keeps all settings beside the app or leaves no system changes.
• macOS: DMG is a disk image containing the app; ZIP is an archive. Match Apple silicon or Intel before choosing the format.
• Linux: choose DEB for Debian/Ubuntu or RPM for distributions using RPM packages. AppImage and TAR.XZ are also available; their dependencies and setup still need to match your distribution.

These formats are listed in the v3.11.0 build configuration. GitHub’s Source code archives contain the project source, not an application installer.

No. Desktop v3.11.0 hides the Masque option in Windows ia32 builds. The restriction was introduced in v3.1.3 and remains in the v3.11.0 settings code. Downloading x64 does not make it run on 32-bit Windows.

No. Use macOS 12 Monterey or later. Both the Intel and Apple silicon ZIP apps in the v3.11.0 release declare a minimum of 12.0 in their application metadata. The older “macOS 10.15+” release description is out of date. This also agrees with the minimum macOS version for Electron 38 and later, used by this release. We checked the package metadata; we have not tested the app on every supported Mac.

Each file has a SHA-256 checksum disclosure with the value supplied by the GitHub release API. Compare the hexadecimal value after sha256: with the SHA-256 hash of your downloaded file. A match checks that the file matches that published digest; it is not a security audit or a digital signature.

To calculate the hash, open PowerShell on Windows or Terminal on macOS/Linux in the folder containing the download. Replace filename with the exact downloaded filename, including its extension, and keep the quotation marks:

• Windows PowerShell: Get-FileHash -Algorithm SHA256 -LiteralPath "filename" — compare the Hash value. Microsoft command reference.
• macOS Terminal: shasum -a 256 "filename" — compare the first value, before the filename. shasum reference.
• Linux Terminal: sha256sum "filename" — compare the first value, before the filename.

Compare all 64 characters with the value after sha256: shown for that same file. Uppercase and lowercase letters represent the same hash. These commands read the file; they do not install it.

If the values differ, do not run the file. Download the same named asset again from the release page and compare again. These displayed digests come from GitHub; we have not independently hashed all full binaries.
